Winifred ALLEN married Frank PICKETT they were my parents.
William ALLEN's son George Henry married Rosina BOLT they had a son George who married Quivia Ethel HICKS so my grandparents were. George ALLEN and Ethel HICKS.

The Allen family have come from Cornwall for the last few generations that I know of. My research takes me back to 1700 with William Allen.
The ALLEN men worked mainly in the mine at Kit Hill. Pictured below.
Cornish miners were shorter than the average people with men around the 5' 3" mark. If my records are correct. The Bolt men were also miners. I am still researching the history of the Hicks family. I have only three generations in my direct line so far.
